At The Literary Compass, our mission is to be your trusted guide to discovering quality reads and to support aspiring writers in showcasing their work. We believe that finding your next great book can be challenging, so we strive to make the process easier by providing thoughtful, honest reviews and recommendations.
In addition to our commitment to helping readers, we also aim to foster a vibrant community of writers. We believe that every writer deserves recognition for their hard work, and we offer a platform for them to showcase their talents and connect with other authors
As part of our commitment to supporting writers, we also offer opportunities for paid reviews, providing an additional revenue stream for up-and-coming authors. We are passionate about literature and writing, and we hope to inspire others to join us on this journey.
Chad McIntyre (Founder)
Chad McIntyre, currently residing on the beautiful island of Catalina, is a devoted husband to Kelly and a loving pet parent to Duke. He is an alumnus of California Baptist University, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business, and has worked in sales and marketing for 5 years.
He harbors a deep appreciation for several renowned authors, including Ernest Hemingway and Oscar Wilde. However, his literary affection is especially reserved for F.W. Boreham, whose works top the list of his favorites. His interest in these authors indicates a keen eye for both nuanced storytelling and thought-provoking philosophical discourse.
Currently is pursuing a Masters’ in Theology at Cranmer Theological House as He wants to serve the His Anglican Church by teaching.

Kelly McIntyre (Wife, Editor, and Children’s Literature Enthusiast)
Kelly Lauren Andreen is a passionate educator, librarian, and lifelong learner with a deep love for literature and the arts. She holds a Master of Arts in Teaching – Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (MAT-TESOL) from the University of Southern California and is currently completing her Master’s in Library and Information Science (MLIS) at San Jose State University, with just three courses remaining. Additionally, she earned her Teacher-Librarian credential from SJSU, a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, and a TK-12 Music Credential from Azusa Pacific University, where she also completed her Bachelor’s in Liberal Studies with a Minor in Music.
Currently serving as an Elementary Teacher-Librarian in a Title I school district in Los Angeles, Kelly has previously worked as a TK-12 Teacher Librarian for two years and spent over five years as an elementary school teacher. Her dedication to education extends beyond the classroom, fostering a love for reading and learning in her students.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Kelly is a talented musician who enjoys playing the trumpet and piano. She also finds joy in handcrafting jewelry, selling her unique creations at local shops and art fairs. When she isn’t immersed in teaching or creating, she cherishes time with family, friends, and her rescue dog, Duke.
As a literature enthusiast, Kelly gravitates toward non-fiction focused on personal growth, psychological thrillers, children’s literature, and biographies. Her favorite book, The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath, holds special significance in her life. The novel’s Fig Tree poem serves as a guiding philosophy, inspiring her choices and personal journey since she first encountered its powerful message.
